New Riders Availability

To view and book riding lessons with us you will first need to register online which you can do by following this link Rider Registration. 

Once registered you will then be able to see and book any private lesson slots which we have available, which will also act as an assessment lesson.  After your first lesson we can advise on our availability for class lessons or regular private lessons to develop your riding skills.​

Please note we have limited availability for group beginner lessons for children.  For adults we have several private lesson spaces during weekdays.  We also release any reserved private lesson slots, both during weekdays and weekends, which will then be available to all adults/children and we send out regular notifications about our availability.

Riding Lessons

As a fully licenced 5 Star riding school Smeltings Farm Equestrian Training delivers lessons from private to small classes, catering for each client's individual needs. All lessons are taught by suitably trained instructors, with the knowledge and experience to teach to the required level.  Our lessons are aimed primarily at those new to riding or those who have had a break, with the aim of helping you become comfortable and confident riding.

 

We have a range of horses and ponies from 12.2hh to 17.2hh and of all ages. All our horses remain with us even after they have been retired and are viewed very much as part of the family. This means that our clients develop a bond with the horses, without the fear that they will be sold on, with some of our clients growing up riding and caring for ponies and then seeing their own children also ride and care for the same pony or them enjoying a happy retirement. 

 

For children we run additional lessons and courses during school holidays, please email us for further details.

 

Once a regular lesson time has been agreed to maintain this slot we do ask that you attend on

a regular basis and ensure that you give us at least 36 hours notice if you find it necessary to cancel.

 

We expect to ride in most weather conditions, riding in the indoor school is not guaranteed, therefore suitable clothing should be worn.

 

Please note that unlike some other riding schools our class lessons are limited to a maximum of four clients, this ensures a high level of instruction and attention per client, click here for our Lesson Prices

Restrictions: Minimum age 6 years old, maximum weight 13st.
